community…..

One of many….eCDS KnowledgeBase is a partnership that grew out of the eMERGE Network, IGNITE, and others. This community is part of a much larger research community working to improve patient care through decision support tools.

  • The Action Collaborative on Developing Guiding Principles for Integrating Genomic Information Into the Electronic Health Record Ecosystem – is an ad hoc activity under the auspices of the Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health, convenes key stakeholders from health information technology and management vendors, academic health centers, government agencies, and other organizations to work together to examine how genomic information can be uniformly represented and integrated into electronic health records in a standards-based format. The action collaborative has secured the agreement of Intermountain Healthcare, ARUP laboratories, and Cerner to act as an initial pilot for this development. • Clinical Sequencing Exploratory Research (CSER) – CSER is a national consortium of projects that bring together clinicians, scientists, laboratories, bioinformaticians, economists, legal scholars, ethicists, and patients working together to develop and share innovations and best practices in the integration of genomic sequencing into clinical care.
  • Genetics/Genomics Competency Center: The mission of G2C2 is to provide high quality educational resources for group instruction or self-directed learning in genetics/genomics by health care educators and practitioners. The G2C2 solicits, reviews and organizes resources through an interdisciplinary collaborative exchange.
  • Genomic Medicine Meeting VII: Genomic Clinical Decision Support convened key thought leaders in genomic medicine implementation and application of clinical decision support to:
    • Compare current state with ideal state of genomic clinical decision support (GCDS) to define gaps and strategies to close the gaps.
    • Identify and engage US and international health IT initiatives that would support recommended strategies.
    • Define a prioritized research agenda for GCDS.
  • Implementing GeNomics In pracTicE (IGNITE) – Six genomic medicine demonstration projects incorporate genomic information into the electronic medical record (EMR) and provide clinical decision support (CDS) for implementation of appropriate interventions or clinical advice across multiple and diverse sites.
  • Open Clinical Decision Support (OpenCSD) – OpenCDS is a multi-institutional, collaborative effort to develop open-source, standards-based clinical decision support (CDS) tools and resources that can be widely adopted to enable CDS at scale.
  • PharmGKB: CPIC Informatics Working Group – A formal working group within CPIC was formed in 2013 to focus on informatics aspects of CPIC guidelines, especially as they relate to the application of the CPIC guidelines in electronic health records (EHRs) with clinical decision support (CDS). The goal of the CPIC Informatics Working Group is to support the adoption of the CPIC guidelines by identifying, and resolving where possible, potential technical barriers to the implementation of the guidelines within a clinical electronic environment.
